Keetmanshoop is the main centre and focal point of the scenic and historic attractions in the south. Some 50 km south-west of Keetmanshoop en route to Seeheim, is Namibia’s largest water reservoir, the Naute Dam. Northeast of the town lies the Quiver Tree Forest and the Giants Playground. The rare endemic quiver trees only grow in Namibia and the Northern Cape Province. Across the road from the Quiver Tree Forest is the Giant’s Playground, an impressive jumble of massive dolerite boulders, which are a reminiscent of towers built by children.
